    Honestly, we listened to every song we could find by these artists, plus tunes by local bands/Southern groups like The Swingin’ Medallions, Pieces of Eight, Rockin’ Gibralters, Villagers, etc.

    And we relished comedy albums by Moms Mabley, Redd Foxx, Rudy Ray Moore, Bro. Dave Gardner, and Doug Clark and The Hot Nuts.

    Still do.

    Songs of our youth sound even better today when heard on sound equipment designed by folks too young to have heard any of ’em on AM car radios, pocket transistor radios and hi-fi record players we once grooved to like we had good sense.
